In this Local Lift, I’m excited to show off a few more of my favorite Whidbey Island businesses. This ongoing Local Lift feature is one of the ways that I like to uplift independent local businesses right here on Whidbey. I started Local Lift back at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic when local economies were struggling. With each Local Lift, I purchase gift certificates to local businesses and give them away to the community, all while shining the spotlight on what makes each place so great.

Barrington's Irish Bar & Grill
Known for being “A taste of Ireland in the heart of Oak Harbor,” Barrington’s Irish Bar & Grill is a local favorite for several reasons. For starters, the food of course! Allure Salon & Spa
If you need a completely new look or simply a refresh, head to Allure Salon & Spa in Oak Harbor, and they will take care of you! The professionals at Allure do it all, and a few of their services include haircuts, hair color, makeup, eyelash extensions, massage, and more.

Skagit Cycle Center
Skagit Cycle has 3 locations; you’ll find one in Anacortes, one in Burlington, and we’re lucky to have one on Whidbey in Oak Harbor. Skagit Cycle sells an extensive selection of bikes that you can try out, including mountain bikes, road bikes, electric bikes, hybrid bikes, commuter bikes, and kids bikes. They also sell many other bike-related products, from helmets to shoes and more. They also offer bike repair and fitting services, and are a fantastic resource for joining riding groups and learning more about where to ride in the area.
